Name: Marc Emery
Marc Emery aka The Prince of Pot is a Canadian Cannabis activist and businessman. In an unusual and politically motivated move, the DEA pressured the Canadian Government to extradite him sentenced him to serve 5 years in the USA even though his business was never conducted there. While his business mailed seeds to the USA, this would never resulted in such a harsh foreign incarceration without ulterior motivations, and a scorching DEA memo confirms this was related to his massive contributions to the marijuana movement.
Marc owned and operated Cannabis Culture Magazine which is one of the best Cannabis news resources convering Canada, the USA and beyond, Pot-TV, and the BC Marijuana Party. With Marc in jail his wife Jodie Emery, Editor Jeremiah Vandermeer, and their staff keep CC running and have helped galvanize the Cannabis Community under the slogan FREE MARC. Unfortunately for the DEA, he is now a symbol of injustice, and the entire Cannabis movement has only been bolstered by their action. Someone should tell the DEA that 50's tactics no longer work in the age of social media, they just cause unnecessary pain.
Note for the age of austerity: Marc was tax payer of over half a billion Canadian dollars, and the Canadian government refused to prosecute him!
